JEWELRY CARE
Here at Icetruck Jewelry, we only source high quality metals and use the most advanced PVD-Plating procedure. With that said, fashion jewellery (including gold plated, 925 Sterling Silver and the more expensive solid gold jewelry) can come across normal wear and tear like this over time. To extend the life of your jewelry pieces, please give them occasional breaks and try to keep them away from any moisture, chemicals and creams.
Please follow these tips to maintain a good quality and prevent early tarnish of your jewelry
- When not in use, store it in a well ventilated and clean place
- After use, wipe it down with a soft and clean cloth
- Do not sleep with your jewellery on
- Avoid sweat if possible
- Avoid chemicals (especially hand cream & sanitizers)
- Avoid bathing, showering or washing your hands with your jewellery on
- Wait for any hand/face cream to dry completely before putting on any jewelry
How to avoid oxidisation
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Traces of copper will be found in Yellow and Rose Gold plating as it contributes to the colouring of the metal. In some extreme cases of sensitive, highly acidic skin, you may experience some oxidisation (slight greening). The other main cause of oxidisation are chemicals which are found in hand creams, sanitizers or lotions. This is in fact a common trait in even the finest jewelry, however if you wish to get more information on our plating and how to prevent any oxidisation, we advise you to contact us at support@theicetruck.com .
If you are allergic or sensitive to metals or have had green tainting before then you are likely to experience a similar reaction.
Those that are sensitive to specific metals should not purchase copper or brass based jewellery and instead opt for our Stainless Steel, 925 Silver or Solid Gold jewelry (available for custom orders).
Our 925 Sterling Silver Jewellery (925 Sterling Silver contains 92.5% sterling silver and 6.5% copper) may be a better option for you if you had green tainting before.
We take no responsibility or liability for any reactions that may take place; It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure all precautions are taken as we are unable to know each individual's allergies and sensitivities.
